Roderick Review (Week 18) 1/2/17-1/6/17

Roderick Review (Week 18)   1/2/17-1/6/17

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
After vacation, everyone returned ready to learn!  Take a look at what some of the students have been engaged in this week.

Amateur Children's Theater (ACT) began on January 5th!  Ms. Kost, Mrs. Crabtree, Ms. Mariotti, and their intern Paul led a spirited troop of thespians through music and speaking auditions and theater games to build their performance skills.  Be sure to save the date and see
Beauty and the Beast on March 31st at 7:00 p.m. and April 1st at 2:00 p.m.!

Fourth graders are working together to determine cause and effect.

Students in Mrs. Coleman's class are using the Chromebooks during reading and accessing the text.  Mrs. Coleman and the students are making predictions about the time this story is taking place based upon the picture before engaging in the reading.

Mathematicians in 4T are multiplying large numbers with great facility!

Students are working on building their vocabulary and spelling skills in a game format when working independently.

Students are getting reading to "bring their information alive" in their writing as they picture the person they are studying in the setting and what the person would look like, and what he would have with him, and maybe what he might be thinking about.  (Students also noted that they used a similar technique for narrative writing as well.)

SKI CLUB 2017
Take a look at a few pictures of the first week of Ski Club.  Thank you to Mrs. Moon, Miss Maloney, Mrs. Hall, Ms. Yelle, Miss Haughey, Mrs. Curtin, and Mrs. Haughey for leading our skiers!

Have a wonderful wintry weekend!
