Students and teachers pass between buildings throughout the day.

What's New This Week at Roderick?

Math Expression Headbands!

In Ms. Downing's class, students worked in teams so that one player was wearing a mathematical expression and the other person had to give clues (with specific wording restrictions, of course) to allow the student wearing the expression to determine what expression was on the "headband" they were wearing.

WINTER BAND CONCERT WOWS THE AUDIENCE!
Under the direction of Ms. Salazar, the fifth and sixth grade musicians put on an amazing concert during two daytime assemblies for students in Delaney AND Roderick schools on Wednesday.  Then, in the evening, they performed the concert to a full house of families in the Gibbons Gym with a mixture of soloists, small ensembles, and full band pieces.  We are very proud of our instrumentalists! Bravo tutti!

Before School Yoga for Fifth Graders!

On Friday, January 13, 2016, a fifth grader began a four-week pilot yoga class series before school.  From 7:45 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. the fifth grader and her mother are hosting up to 12 students who signed up for the class to help start their day off right!  What a great idea!  If the pilot works well, we may look at creating additional classes as well.
