Roderick Review (Week 28) 3/20/17-3/24/17

Parent-Teacher Conference Week
Thank you to all of our teachers and families who set aside the time for conferences this week.  It is so helpful to have the time to reflect and celebrate our students' progress throughout their learning journey and talk together about how to best support and challenge our students as they continue to learn.

Important Upcoming Events

Principal Coffee - March 31, 2017
Topic:  Placement Process

Please join Mrs. Wagstaff and I from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. on Friday, March 31, 2017 for the Principal Coffee when we will be discussing the placement process for the 2017-2018 school year.  We will share the different factors that go into forming new learning communities each year.  We will also be reviewing the process that parents can use to provide their input.  The process is largely the same as last year.  There is an online form that parents will fill out to share information they want us to consider as part of the process.  Many times, the input provided may center around peer relationships and specific accommodations that students need in school.  Families will receive a link via email in the beginning of April so that they can access the form and provide their input.  (A hard copy will be for those that do not have internet access.)

We recognize that not everyone can come to the morning meeting* so the presentation will also be added to the website after the meeting and you are always welcome to contact me with any questions.

*Note:  During the 2017-2018 school year, we will try to schedule a mix of morning and evening events.
