Hello Roderick Community,

On Wednesday, we celebrated our Roderick Awards Day.  We are so proud of this year's students!

 

The students of Miss White’s class and Mrs. Moon’s class held a Southeast Asia & Oceania Showcase this week to present their Glogsters to their parents and teachers.  The students were required to use at least 6 technology tools (Glogster, Voki, Tagxedo, Windows Movie Maker, FlipShare, Photo Story, Timeliner and Garfield Comic) to present their research about one of 10 countries located in Southeast Asia or Oceania.  All of the groups did an incredible job! 

Grade 5 celebrated Colonial Day on Tuesday.  The students traveled back in time.

Congratulations to this week's Positive Referral recipients.  These students were recognized for going out of their way to be inclusive, kind, and helpful.  We are very proud of these students! 

Grade 4 presented an awesome Animal Tour and Toured the USA this week.

Ms. O'Connell's class recently hosted Mrs. Nunes' class for crafts.  They assisted the kindergartners by making book marks for summer reading and kites :-)

Delaney Interim Principal Named!

Congratulations to Mrs. Colleen Wagstaff!  Mrs. Wagstaff was appointed by Dr. Cameron to be the Interim Principal for the Delaney School for the 2014-2015 school year.  The Delaney School is in wonderful hands and we all wish her well on this next exciting chapter in her career!

Greetings Roderick Families,

Grade 6 will celebrate their graduation on Monday, June 23rd at 12:30 PM in the Delaney courtyard.  If the weather does not cooperate, we will have the ceremony in the Gibbons gymnasium.

Grade 6 had their Spelling Bee today. Congratulations to our three finalists.  Second runner-up, John, 2014 school champion, Mary Kate, and Second runner-up, Jack!  Way to go!

Grade 4 "toured" the USA this afternoon.  

The fifth graders had a wonderful time on their field trip to the Duck Tours this week. Thanks to all of the parents who took time to chaperone.

Move-up day will be held on Tuesday, June 24th.  Children will spend 15 minutes in their new teacher's classroom, get a chance to meet their new classmates, and hear a little about what's to come in September.

     

Tuesday, June 24th is the last day of school.  Students will be dismissed at 12:00 p.m. On behalf of the entire Roderick School staff, I would like to wish you and your family a safe and happy summer vacation!

Happy Father's Day to all the Roderick School fathers and grandfathers!
