Ms. Yelle's, Mrs. Farrell's, and Mrs. Porier's students are involved in a
postcard project that is designed to connect their family and friends around the US with their
study of the United States regions. Postcards have been arriving by the bundle!
Friends and relatives have shared facts, history and climate about their state
to help further students' knowledge of the states in the different regions of the US. There have been a tremendous amount of postcards collected so far this year!
Congratulations to this week's Positive Referrals. These fantastic students were recognized for being kind, helpful, and responsible. Thank you for making our school a better place! We are very proud of you!
Our sixth graders are once again participating in the D.A.R.E. program. D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) is a national program that educates adolescents about making healthy and wise decisions as they navigate through some very impressionable years. We are fortunate to have Sergeant Jeff Smith of the Wrentham Police Department working with our sixth graders again this year. Our students have D.A.R.E. once a week for 45 minutes. As a culminating activity, a D.A.R.E. graduation is held in early May.
Students in Grade 4 celebrated Grinch Day
today. Teachers and students dressed "Grinchy", but were reminded that
their hearts should be two sizes too big during during this season,
rather than two sizes too small! Students integrated Grinch characters
into problem solving, measuring, comparing, and contrasting. It was a
great day for all!
Sixth Grade Ski Club will run from January 9 - February 13, 2014. We were able to add a second bus, so all students who signed up are
enrolled for this season! A notice was sent home today with all enrolled students regarding a
parent meeting on December 18th. Please contact Miss Maloney with any questions.
Thanks for reading this week's blog! Enjoy your weekend!
Respectfully,
Stephen S. Grenham
