Roderick Review (Week 5) 9/26/16-9/30/16

Roderick Review (Week 5) 9/26/16-9/30/16

DATE CHANGE...
Please note that the Parent Coffee to discuss the MCAS Results has been moved to October 21st.  We will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the Vogel Auditorium.  We hope to see many of you there!

What was happening this week?
Students in Ms. O'Connell's fifth grade class are gaining perspective as
they physically change direction...

W.E.S.T. Funded "Probots" are introduced this week to fourth graders by Mrs. Fox!

Students learn by programming different commands into the Probot and a pen in the car will "draw" what they programmed.  This helps them to self-check their commands and revise as needed.

Roderick Science in Action...
Students are using Chromebooks to access information about the different types of rocks...

Other students are looking at their soil sample and
recording what they find.  In one small soil sample, they
found rocks, twigs, bark, wood chips. and an acorn.

Walking field trip to the vernal pool!
5P Scientists are recording their observations

The WTA Charity Softball Game...September 29, 2016
The fifth annual softball game between the Wrentham Teachers and the Wrentham Police occurred this past Thursday!
One of our very own sixth graders began the evening by singing the
Star-Spangled Banner a a capella!

Dr. Cameron is racing towards home to score a run!

The teachers are ready for any high-flying ball to left field!

The Paparos make this a family endeavor every year!

The Wrentham Police won the game with six runs and the Wrentham Teachers played hard and scored four runs.  Best of all, we had the support of MANY students, their families, and many other staff members cheering everyone on!

On behalf of all of us, thanks to your generous support, we raised $1,537 for student scholarships! THANK YOU!

NEXT WEEK:

Our SIXTH GRADERS head to Camp Bournedale in Plymouth!
