Hello Roderick Families!

Today our school held its last Principals' Coffee of the year. School Superintendent, Dr. Cameron was our guest speaker. Dr. Cameron outlined the most up-to-date information regarding FY '16 budget. Thank you to all of the parents who took time out of their busy schedules to attend today's coffee, Dr. Cameron for presenting at the coffee, and our food service department for supplying the delicious refreshments. If you did not get a chance to attend this morning's presentation, it will be posted on out website.

Our Spring Band Concert will be held next Wednesday, June 10th at 7:00 PM in the Gibbons Gymnasium.

The fifth graders had a wonderful time on their field trip to the Duck Tours this week. Thanks to all of the parents who took time to chaperone.

Thank you to KP North principal Dr. Gilson, former Roderick students, and the members of the 8th Grade Chorus for visiting our school this week. They provided a lot of information about the life of a 7th grader at KP North.

We celebrated our last Positive Referral breakfast of the year this morning. Thank you to all of the families who attended and special thanks to our cafeteria staff for providing the delicious refreshments. Congratulations to all of the Positive Referrals who attended the breakfast and congratulations to all who earned a Positive Referral this year!

Grade 6 had their Spelling Bee today. Congratulations to our three finalists. 2015 school champion, Harry, Second runner-up, Felicia, and Third runner-up, Nick! Way to go!

Thanks to all of the Grade 5 parents who attended the Camp Bournedale informational meeting on Wednesday evening. Special thanks to camp director Mike Martin who came up from Bournedale to make the presentation.

Thank you to all the third grade parents who attended the "Welcome to the Roderick" coffee on Wednesday.

Field Day is scheduled for Friday, June 12th. Mr. Maguire and Mr. Moon, our Physical Education teachers, are planning an exciting day of activities for all of the students in Kindergarten through Grade 6.

We have found it to be helpful to:

**have students wear comfortable clothes and sneakers on this day

**apply sunscreen before coming to school. Please provide more sunscreen for re- application.

**send children with a hat and extra water on this day.

Grade 3 students visited the Roderick School today for lunch and recess.

What a great group of children!!!!!
