GRADE 4 - U.S.A. TOUR!
On Friday, June 16, 2017, the fourth graders celebrated their learning about the 50 states and traveled to each of the seven fourth grade classrooms for a unique experience in each room.  Some of the learning that the fourth graders experienced included touring Mt. Roderick Review 5/29/17 - 6/2/17

This Week at Roderick School...

Sixth Grade News

COUNTRY FAIR - Sixth graders presented as experts in an open presentation where visitors passed by each station.  Students shared what they had learned about their country's geography and climate, student life, government, famous landmarks, important figures, and much more.  In addition, they studied the country's culture and had samples of traditional foods their country is known for available to the visitors.   As I visited the different stations, I was impressed at how students were able to answer spontaneous questions and share information on-the-spot even when that information was not on their presentation board. A special thanks to the family and friends who visited the Country Fair, too!

KPMS Representatives Visit Roderick School!

KPMS principal, Dr. Gilson, along with Mr. Wolfe, the KPMS Music & Choral instructor, brought along student members of the chorus and drama club to meet with our sixth graders.

The cast of Beauty and the Beast at KPMS performed...

 ...Be Our Guest!

The chorus shared a special song, "Unwritten" by Natasha Bedingfield with a message about the new experience before them:
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten

Mr. DeWolfe spoke about the options with chorus and drama that would
be available to our rising 7th graders.

Dr. Gilson reminded everyone to go to the website, kingphillip.org to see the information on Summer Reading.  This year's assigned reading is the book entitled Echo by Pam Munoz Ryan

Our four student panelists gave the sixth graders great advice about staying how to have a successful KPMS experience...

...Our KPMS panelists shared strategies such as staying up to date with your work, staying organized, and asking for help when you need it.
