WPS Collects for the Wrentham Food Pantry...
The Wrentham Food Pantry could use your help.  We will be collecting food for the food pantry in each school lobby until Friday, June 17th.  After the holiday season there is a lull in donations, yet there are many local families who still need the support of the Food Pantry now and throughout the summer.  Thanks for your help!

Fourth Grade -
Students in 4C and 4F held their Informational Writing Celebration on Friday, June 3rd where students were able to share their biographies, their own published work, and celebrate their successes. Examples of their writing showed how students are now able to organize their thoughts more clearly and succinctly in paragraph form, often separating sections with headings.  Having read text both as "readers" and as "writers", the students are able to think about how their writing comes across to the reader and add in additional text features such as a picture of the person they studied, the subject's  family, or a picture of an important moment in that person's life.

Grade 6...
Mrs. Curtin's class and Mrs. Haughey's class attended a presentation where Mr. Michael Ryan, Communications Coordinator at the Office of the Jury Commissioner helped students understand the selection process for a jury and students experienced a simulation as well.  Thank you, Mr. Ryan!

S.W.I.S.H. or Students With Illnesses Score Help is now in its eleventh year!  Over the years, S.W.I.S.H. has raised over $70,000.  This year, S.W.I.S.H. raised over $14,000.  Half of this money will go to benefit the Labonte family and the other half of the funds raised will go to benefit a student struggling with an illness as well as their family.  Organized by one of our Sixth Grade Teachers, Mrs. Jennifer Moon, it has involved so many community members who have given their time, effort, and energy to organize behind the scenes and some have also given of themselves to provide a special prize in addition to providing donations.  Each year, there is a charity basketball game where the WPS staff play the Wrentham Police.  This year's game was held on Thursday, June 2, 2016.  Thank you to everyone who contributed!

Pep Rally on Thursday afternoon!
